Games Like Diablo You Can Play in a Browser

Ashen Wastes corrupted by the Drift, a burned desert with glass dunes

By the developer

Disclosure: I am the developer, and I make CalemDrift. It is on this list because it is my game. The others are games I think are worth your time, described as fairly as I can. I checked the details on other games in October 2026. They can change, so check their sites.

Real Diablo-style action RPGs that run in a browser tab are rare in 2026. Most of the good ones need a download. So this page has two parts: what runs in a browser, and the best downloads if you are willing to install something.

Runs in a browser

CalemDrift (my game)

It is not a click-to-move action game, so let me be upfront about that. It is a dark fantasy loot RPG that scratches the same itch. Kill things, get better gear, go somewhere worse. Your skills fire on their own in short fights, and you make the calls around them.

What it has: legendary loot with rolled stats, 29 solo raid bosses, mythic class sets that only drop in raids, and a level 1 to 50 road from Verdant Hollow to the Dragon Sanctum.

The closest thing it has to Diablo's late game is the Drift. Beat a zone's raid boss and you unlock a corrupted version of that zone. Monsters come back as Godeater or Worldreaver versions of themselves, and they use abilities like Rot Burst and Reality Tear. Every zone also gets three creatures that only exist in its Drift. In the Ashen Wastes that means the Ember Maw Colossus.

Drift monsters scale to your level, so you cannot farm them on autopilot. They also drop Drift Shards, which you forge into runes that add permanent stats to your hero.

Free, but you need to download

Drakensang Online

A long-running free action MMORPG with isometric combat, dungeons and loot. It feels a lot like classic Diablo. It used to run in the browser and now needs a downloadable client.

Path of Exile

Free-to-play on PC and consoles, with a huge passive tree and deep build crafting. The shop sells cosmetics and stash tabs, not power. Most long-term players do end up buying stash tabs.

Diablo Immortal

Blizzard's free Diablo for mobile and PC. It plays well. Its monetization has been heavily criticized as pay-to-win, so know that before you start.
