The Seven Orders

By the developer
CalemDrift has seven classes. Each one has a mythic armor set that only drops from raid bosses: Titanforged, Oathsworn, Lightwarden, Shadowstalker, Voidcaller, Arcaneweave and Jadepath. Those names are in the game. The idea that each set belonged to an old order that fought the Drift is mine.
Five of these classes are easy to pick up. Wizard and Monk take more work, and I say so in their sections.
Warrior: the Titanforged

The story goes that the first Titanforged held the pass at Windswept Hills against the Gale Stone Colossus with their hands. Nobody alive has checked.
In the game the Warrior is a plain melee tank. Kick and Bash early, Whirlwind and Berserker Rage later, Execute when something is low. The auto-attack mastery is Sundering Blows. The set capstone is Titan's Fury. Beginner-friendly.
Paladin: the Oathsworn
The Oathsworn swore to break every anchor in Calem or die trying. That makes them the order most responsible for the Drift, and they know it.
Paladins hit with Holy Strike and control enemies with Hammer of Justice, and keep themselves alive with Lay on Hands and Divine Shield. Mastery: Sanctified Strikes. Capstone: Shield of the Oath. If you are new, start here.
Cleric: the Lightwardens

Lightwardens kept the wards around The Sanctuary. It is the one place the Drift has never reached, and they would like the credit.
Clerics heal, but they also fight. Smite and Holy Fire do the damage, Greater Heal and Divine Intervention keep you standing. Mastery: Judgment. Capstone: Divine Smite. Beginner-friendly.
Ranger: the Shadowstalkers

Shadowstalkers hunted the Thornwood Depths after the Gloom Thorn Matriarch cursed it, and stayed when it drifted.
Rangers shoot. Aimed Shot, Serpent Sting, Poison Arrow, Multi-Shot, Kill Shot. Evasion and Bear Trap buy time. Mastery: Deadeye Precision. Capstone: Shadowbow. Beginner-friendly.
Summoner: the Voidcallers

Voidcallers learned their binding from the Void cult in the Forsaken Temple, then turned it on the cult. In the Drift they are the ones who look least surprised.
Your pet does a lot of the work. Pet Attack and Empower Minion for it, Dark Bolt, Shadow Bolt and Soul Drain for you, Summon Demon when it counts. Mastery: Soul Rend. Beginner-friendly.
Wizard: the Arcaneweave (advanced)

The Arcaneweave were Veil scholars. They stitched spells into the Veil itself, and some of those stitches are why it tears so easily now.
Wizards focus on spell damage and need defensive tools to survive. Fireball, Ice Bolt, Arcane Burst, Lightning Storm, Meteor. Arcane Ward and Frost Nova are what keep you alive, so you have to use them on purpose. Mastery: Arcane Edge. Capstone: Arcane Overload. Pick a Wizard once you know how fights go.
Monk: the Jadepath (advanced)

Jadepath monks trained at the edge of the Drift to learn its rhythm. They are the only order that went toward it on purpose.
I recommend learning the combat system before trying Monk. Tiger Claw and Dragon Palm for damage, Mend to heal, Crane Reversal and Flowing Reversal to turn hits back, Iron Shirt and Hundred Hands when it matters. The mastery is Jade Rhythm, which strengthens auto-attacks as it gains ranks. Strong in the right hands. Not where I would send a new player.
