CalemDrift is a free dark fantasy RPG that runs in your browser. Nothing to install, no plugin. If you want it on your phone later, there is an Android app and your account carries over.
What you get
- 7 classes. Warrior, Paladin, Cleric, Ranger and Summoner are easy to pick up. Wizard and Monk are the advanced ones.
- 30 zones from level 1 to 50, from Verdant Hollow to the Dragon Sanctum.
- 29 solo raid bosses, like the Prairie Rage Behemoth and the Ancient Chromatic Dragon King.
- Legendary loot with rolled stats, plus mythic class sets that only drop in raids.
- Runecraft, an Auction House and Hardcore mode.
- Short fights. Your skills fire on their own and the combat log shows everything.
The Drift
This is the part I spend the most time on. Beat a zone's raid boss and you unlock its Drift. Turn it on and the zone goes corrupt. The art changes, monsters come back with names like Drift-Touched or Worldreaver and abilities they did not have before, and three new creatures show up that only live there.
Drift monsters scale to your level, so a starter zone in Drift can still kill a high-level hero. The payoff is extra XP and Drift Shards, which you forge into runes for permanent stat points.
How to start
- Go to calemdrift.com.
- Try it as a guest, or make a free account to keep your hero and unlock everything, like the Auction House and Hardcore.
- Pick a class. Not sure? Read best class for beginners.
- Head out of the Sanctuary.
FAQ
Is it really free? Yes. The shop sells XP and Loot Tokens, bag slots, a hero slot and donations. It sells no gear and no stats.
Does it work on a phone? Yes. There is an Android app, and your account carries over from the browser.
Do I need a fast computer? No. Any normal modern browser works.
What happens to a guest hero? Guest play is a short trial. Make a free account to keep your hero.
